A few unexpected delays have pushed the opening date to October 6th. Sorry it took me so long to get on here guys, not too good with this blogging stuff. Shelia you did a great job displaying what objectives you would like to accomplish and how you would do so. I think that we need to start by first researching other comparable universities as well as campuses that are already sustainable. After doing this I think we should survey our own campus and see exactly where our students are at and what they know. From there I think we should then go on to diagnose what our concentration should be pertaining to dining services. It says that a learning objective is a measuable goal that you set for yourself to be accomplished through your work experience. It will require that you learn a new skill, develop a new habit and gain new information.<br /><br />We are going to learn new skills, develop sustainability habits and learn and gain more information about sustainability around our campus and our community. And hopefully make some change!<br /><br />Objectives:<br />To gain knowledge about how other campuses are sustainable<br />To learn if sustainable is always healthier?<br />Find out how others feel about sustainability-- do they even care?<br />Minimize Disposal trays, plates and utensils around our campus<br />Promote incentives for using reusable resources (such as mugs)<br />Learn how to locate where foods come from, and make it easier for those on campus to know by labling some foods (maybe the salad bar) on where they come from.
